Nobody wants to put on a bathing suit to go to the beach and have stray hairs peeking out! Bikini hair removal is pretty common-place these days since bathing suit and lingerie designs are quite revealing.

Bikini Hair Removal: Bathing Suits Are Tiny These Days!

It wasn’t so many decades ago that the bathing suit portion of the Miss America pageant featured sarong style swimsuits and later, when two-piece suits were allowed, a swim trunk style bottom. To be blunt, these types of suits covered up the pubic hair area to the extent that hairs were not visible.

Times have changed and French cut styles, thongs and very tiny bikinis do and will leave stray pubic hair exposed around the edges of the suit. Women want a smooth look without stray hairs sticking out and it is now a common practice to tidy up this area with various hair removal methods.

The Ouch Factor

The skin in this area is fairly sensitive and rarely toughened by exposure to the sun and air. While they are some of the gentlest hair removal methods around, shaving waxing and depilatories can still irritate the skin. If using any of these hair removal methods be sure and use razors, creams and waxes that are specifically meant for bikini area hair removal. These are available and can minimize the irritation in this delicate area.

Electrolysis can be sought out if the area is minimal, but is probably not recommended for hair removal in the entire region. Laser hair removal can also be done on the bikini area if hair is coarse and the skin is light and not overly tanned. Darker skinned people or people with fine hair may not be able to use laser hair removal methods.
