Facial Hair Removal: Lots of Options
Often when you think of facial hair removal you may think of unwanted upper lip hair. While men have natural hair growth on the face, it is thought to be unattractive on women. Stray hairs also can grow on the chin and jowl and removal is often the solution.
Lots of times women simply shave these unwanted hairs. (Yes, women might indeed have to shave their chins!) But these re-grow fairly quickly and must be shaved again.
More Than That
There are also products, such as depilatory creams, specially formulated for gentle facial hair removal. These prevent re-growth longer than shaving and work well. There are also waxing products for facial hair purposes. A special type of hot, melted wax is applied to the area and allowed to cool and harden. The wax surrounds the unwanted hairs and firmly grips them. The wax, when cool, peels off in one piece pulling the hairs out by the roots. This can last a long time but the hair will eventually grow back.
If you are interested in permanent hair removal, a few unwanted facial hairs are good candidates for removal by electrolysis. This procedure is not terribly expensive when performed on a small area, or only a few hairs, and is completely permanent.
Laser Vs. Electrolysis
Laser hair removal is much the same. If your skin and hair type are suitable for treatment with lasers, a small area of facial hair can have a very high success rate or permanent removal without re-growth. Laser hair removal, even on small facial scale will be somewhat more costly than electrolysis. Many clinics do both procedures and can recommend the one they think would be right for you.
